Robust profile, large fruitbodies.
Cap
This amanita is characterized by its white color at a young age and the vinous coloration that invades it with age and adorned with whitish to reddish velar flakes on a white to grayish background.
Margin
Even, not lined.
Gills
Crowdy, white to pale cream, sometimes stained with wine red.
Stalk
Equal to widened downward, whitish then pink to wine red with age. Partial whitish veil staining with wine red with age. Round bulbous base, not marginated.
Flesh
White, very slowly wine red when cut and in insect bites.
Chemical reactions
No reaction with chemicals, except with FeSO4 on the flesh which takes on a greenish color after 5 min. and which turns brown after 15 min; in addition, a slight coloring on the cap and the stipe.
Comments 
It is mentioned as edible, but it is better to abstain because it is said that if it is not well cooked, it can cause serious health problems.
