Fruit body
This chanterelle often has a stocky profile, particularly at a young age. Sometimes the cap does not spread, giving fruiting bodies in the shape of a clavary or club. It is more abundant during the month of August
Cap
This chanterelle has a more brownish appearance because of the scales that adorn its cap. Slowly, all its fruitbodies become stained brown when bruised or cut. Under certain conditions, the caps can fuse and produce polycephalic basidiomas.
Margin
Not rounded, not curled and uniformly or irregularly wavy.
Hymenium surface
False gills strongly decurrent, moderately deep, slightly sinuous, forked and interveined, pale yellow, cream to whitish.
Stalk
3-6.5 X 0.5-2.5, widened from the base towards the apex, full, dark yellow to grayish orange.
Flesh
White to whitish yellow. Fruity apricot scent. Choice dible.
