This very rare chanterelle is found in the southernmost part of Quebec, near the American border.

Cap
Cap 0.6 to 1.2 cm in diameter, dark brown to brownish black, not perforated, finely to coarsely scaly.
Margin
Fringed, wavy margin.
Hymenium surface
Smooth to slightly wrinkled, the folds branching towards the margin, tawny to brown in color.
Stalk
Relatively long stem, dark brown to brownish black, colored like the cap, hollow, becoming almost black when bruised.
Flesh
Choice edible.
