Cinnabar Chanterelle

Size
Habitat
It can be found from July to September in deciduous hardwood forests, particularly where oaks are present.
Fruit body
It is the only chanterelle whose all parts of the fruitbodies range from orange-red to cinnabar red.
Cap
1-4 cm wide, convex when young, becoming flat to centrally depressed, bald, cinnabar red, pinkish orange or deddish orange.
Margin
Margin enroled when young, but expanding and becoming wavy with age.
Hymenium surface
Well spaced and developed false gills that run down the stem, often developing cross-veins, colored like the capor paler.
Stalk
1-5 cm long X 0.5—1 cm wide; equal when young but by maturity usually tapering to the base, bald, colored like the cap or paler.
Flesh
Its whitish chair is orange near the surface, not changing color when sliced.
Mycélium basal
Basal mycelium white to pale yellowish.
