Cap
Red to rosy when young, becoming pale rose-pink and finally rosy tan with olivaceous tints in age.
Margin
Even or with a narrow band of sterile tissue.
Tubes
Adnate, depressed near the stalk when mature.
Pores and Pore Surface
Pore surface yellow at first, becoming grayish yellow and sometimes tinted dull reddish in age, staining dark olivaceous when bruised; pores circular, 2-3 per mm.
Stalk
Nearly equal to tapered in either directions.
Stalk Feature
Yellow overhall or with reddish or brownish tinges especially near the base.
Flesh
White to pale yellow, reddish under the pileipellis, bluing sometimes slowly when cut.
