Robust fruibodies with a very particular cap color.
Cap
Adorned with yellowish velar flakes, pyramidal in shape, on a golden yellow to olive yellow background, sometimes stained with wine red.
Margin
Even, not lined.
Gills
Whitish sometimes stained with wine red.
Stalk
White to yellowish, glabrous to fibrillous-scaly. Bulb not marginated.
Flesh
White, very slowly becoming brownish to red wine when cut, vinous in insect bites.
