Fruit body
White fruiting bodies with a robust profile and a cap with many white warts.
Cap
White cap, often greyish to brownish in the center, decorated with white velar remains .
Margin
Lined at maturity.
Gills
White to pale cream with many truncated short gills.
Stalk
White, enlarged downward, glabrous to finely fibrillous.
Stalk Feature
Partial white veil. Bulbous base, the bulb gradually attenuated upwards and decorated with small scales in a circle at the top of the bulb.
Flesh
White sometimes becoming yellowish in the stipe.
Chemical reactions
Very strong reaction to phenol on all parts of the fruitbodies. No reaction with other chemicals.
