Under conifers and hardwoods.
Cap
Humped, mainly naked, olive yellow to straw yellow, with brownish olive, darker in the center, sometimes with whitish or grayish velar remains.
Margin
Longly lined.
Stalk
Equal, smooth to finely fibrillous, whitish to brownish. The stipe emerges from a white membranous volva in the shape of a bag or a glove finger, grayish at maturity and sometimes stained brown.
Flesh
White.
Chemical reactions
Strong reaction towards rusty brown with phenol on the flesh, cap and stipe.
