Fruit body
Stocky, often sandy. All parts of the fruitbody become reddish brown when wrinkled or with age.
Cap
White then brownish pink, naked or decorated with a few white velar fibrils.
Margin
Shortly lined at maturity.
Gills
Whitish, browning on bruishing or with age.
Stalk
White to brownish, thick, fibrillous to scaly.
Stalk Feature
Delicate partial veil leaving only traces at the top of the stipe. Bulbous stipe emerging from a thick, flared, bag-like volva.
Flesh
Whitish, browning when cut.
