Fruit body
Fruitbody of medium size, stocky profile.
Cap
White, no velar remains.
Margin
Even, not lined.
Hymenium surface
Widely spaced and salmon-colored.
Stalk
Equal, hollow, straigt and covered with numerous scales.
Stalk Feature
White secondary veil hanging on the stipe; numerous and very visible scales on the stipe. Bulbous stem emerging from a white volva. Bulb 4 cm in diameter.
Flesh
White; beige in the inner periphery of the stipe.
Comments 
This amanita with salmon-colored gills was identified by Mr. Roland Labbé and Ms. Renée Leboeuf as being an old Destroying Angel. She was photographed in La Tuque, Qc on August 25, 2016. Mr. Roland Labbé of Mycoquébec tells us “I have seen this type of gills a few times for Amanita virosa! "
