Sur bois mort de feuillus, rarement de conifères.
Chapeau
Chapeau brun grisâtre à presque noir.
Marge du chapeau
Mince, sinueuse et incisée, souvent frangée à ciliée, concolore au reste du chapeau.
Tubes
Pores ronds, visibles, 2 à 4 par mm, blancs à ivoire, parois minces devenant lacérés avec l’âge.
Surface des tubes
Blanchâtre à ivoire.
Pied
Pied centré à excentré, grisâtre à brunâtre.
Chair
Blanche.
