Sur bois mort de feuillus, rarement de conifères.
Chapeau
Chapeau brun foncé au début, brun jaunâtre avec l’âge.
Marge du chapeau
Mince, souvent ciliée, srérile en dessous.
Tubes
Pores grands, 1 à 2 par mm, anguleux et souvent alignés du pied vers la marge.
Surface des tubes
Blanchâtre à chamois.
Pied
Pied central à légèrement excentré, chiné, brun foncé à brun jaunâtre.
Chair
Crème à chamois.
