Fruitbodies yellow in all parts and quickly turning blue when bruised.
Cap
Yellow caps turning blue quickly when bruised.

Tubes
Tubes yellow, adnate, depressed near the stipe at maturity, turning blue when cut.
Pores and Pore Surface
Tube surface yellow quickly blueing when bruised, pores circular, very small, 4 per mm.
Stalk
Nearly equal to widened or narrowed downward.
Stalk Feature
Stipe yellow, reddish or blackish at the base, non reticulate, blueing when bruised.
Flesh
Yellow flesh, quickly turning blue when cut and red towards the base of the stipe with age
Chemical reactions
FLESH: towards orange beige with KOH AND NaOH; towards grayish with FeSO4 and NH4OH. STIPE: towards blackish brown with KOH and dark brown with NaOH; towards blackish gray with FeSO4. TUBES: towards blackish brown with all four reagents.
