Nearly equal or enlarged downward, red or reddish initially to yellow-red later.
Flesh
Whitish to yellowish in the cap, yellowish in the stipe, immutable.
Chemical reactions
FLESH: towards yellow in the cap and the stipe with NaOH and in the stipe with KOH. CAP-STIPE: towards yellow with KOH and NaOH on the cap and the stipe.
