Cap
Pinkish purple when fresh, darker purplish pink or red later, becoming grayish at maturity.
Margin
Becoming grayish in age, appendiculate.
Tubes
Adnate.
Pores and Pore Surface
Pore surface lemon-yellow becoming greenish olive at maturity, instantly greenish blue when bruised; pores circular, 1-2 per mm.
Stalk
Equal to tapered downward.
Stalk Feature
Yellow over most of the length and occasionnaly reddish at the base, reticulate nearly the entire length or at least in the upper two-thirds.
Flesh
Pale yellow, total, rapid staining blue when cut.
Basal Mycelium
White, bluing rapidly when bruised.
