Habitat
On the roots or buried woods of deciduous trees.
Cap
White, cream to yellowish. Finely hairy at first, unzoned, often a little wrinkled.

Angular, hardly visible, 4 to 5 per mm.
Pores and Pore Surface
White to cream, decurrent.
Stalk
Rather short, up to 4 cm in length, centered or lateral, widened upwards.
Stalk Feature
White to ochraceous.
Flesh
White, dense in the lower part, much looser in the upper part.
Basal Mycelium
White.
