Cap
Very variable in its general appearance. Pale brown cap, brownish yellow to olive-brown, dull purplish on the margin.

Even.
Tubes
Adnate, depressed near the stalk.
Pores and Pore Surface
Pore surface yellow at first, becoming paler with age; pores circular to angular, 1-2 per mm when young, up to 2 mm wide at maturity.
Stalk
Equal or enlarged towards the base, often club-shaped.
Stalk Feature
Yellowish, streaked with dark brown tones.
Flesh
White to pale yellow, vinaceus under the pileipellis, brownish in the stalk, immutable.
Basal Mycelium
Yellow.
