Cap
Pink to rose colored when young, fading to tan at maturity.

Tubes
Long, adnate, depressed near the stalk.
Pores and Pore Surface
White when young, pinkish, tan in age. Pores circular to angular, 1,75 à 3 per mm.
Stalk
Nearly equal or tapered in either direction. The yellow base of the stalk allows you to identify this bolete.
Stalk Feature
Surface white, covered with pink or reddish scabers.
Flesh
White, immutable, yellow at the base of the stalk.
Basal Mycelium
Yellow.
Chemical reactions
CAP: towards yellowish brown with KOH and NaOH, towards gray with FeSO4 and discoloration of the cap with NH4OH. TUBES: towards black with KOH and NaOH, towards dark gray with FeSO4 and towards white with phenol.
