Habitat
The most picked and consumed mushroom in the world. It grows in small troops in the undergrowth of coniferous or deciduous trees.
Cap
Yellow to orange-yellow. Margin incurved when young, spread out thereafter.
Stalk
Pale to dark yellow.
Flesh
Thick, firm, white to pale yellow.
Comments 
The chanterelle is little parasitized by insect larvae; young fruiting bodies keep for more than 10 days in the refrigerator; in addition to its taste, this is what makes it so popular. English names: Chanterelle, Golden Chanterelle, Girolle. Latin names: C. cibarius, C. enelensis, C. vulgaris, C. edulis.
