Cap
Glutinous when fresh, red to orangish chesnut or reddish brown, often developping darker spots in age.
Margin
Often appendiculate with the veil remnants.
Tubes
Short, adnate or slightly decurrent tubes.
Pores and Pore Surface
Pore surface immutable, yellow at first, becoming ochre or olive-yellow in age; large, angular pores.
Stalk
Nearly equal or enlarging downward, yellow at the apex, chesnut brown dowmward, sometimes lateral or excentric.
Stalk Feature
Partial veil leaving a membranous ring, slimy. Stalk covered with a chesnut brown gaiter, yellowish above the annulus reddish below. .
Flesh
Whitish when young, yellowish in age, immutable.
