Pores and Pore Surface
Pore surface dark red at first becoming orange-red at maturity, quickly staining blue when bruised; pores small and circular, 2-3 per mm.
Stalk
Nearly equal to enlarged toward the base.
Stalk Feature
Yellow with a red base and apex, covered with red reticulations, at least at the apex, or sometimes nearly overhall.
Flesh
Yellowish to reddish, with a red line above the tubes, total, rapid colour change to blue when cut.
