Cap
The pileus is red, pale at the margin, often cracked. The context is white to yellowish in the cracks.

Tubes
Adnate, depressed near the stalk.
Pores and Pore Surface
Yellow, blueing when bruised. Pores angular, tick walked, 1-2 per mm.
Stalk
Equal to tapered downward.
Stalk Feature
Yellow at the apex, punctate with reddish orange dots.
Flesh
Whitish to yellowish in the pileus, blueing when cut, brownish in the stalk.
Basal Mycelium
White.
Chemical reactions
FLESH: to beige with KOH, NaOH and NH4OH; towards black with phenol and towards gray with FeSO4 and formalin. CAP-STIPE : towards beige with KOH and NaOH; to black with FeSO4 and phenol; no reaction with NH4OH and formalin. TUBES: to beige with KOH, NaOH and NH4OH; towards blackish gray with FeSO4, phenol and formalin.
