Frequency 
Infrequent
Habitat Area
Under hardwoods.
Cap
Pinkish to rusty pink at maturity, usually paler towards the margin.
Margin
Even, paler than the center of the cap, yellowish, spread apart.
Tubes
Short, adnate.
Pores and Pore Surface
Pore surface yellow becoming ochre-yellow in age, staining blue when bruised; pores circular to angular, 1-2 per mm.
Stalk
Equal to enlarging toward the base.
Stalk Feature
Non-reticulate at the apex, or reticulated for a very short distance, bluish when bruised, yellow at the apex, pink-red on the lower two-thirds.
Flesh
Yellow, staining blue mainly in the cap and at the top of the stalk when cut, and more noticeably at maturity.
