.Annual, on branches, stumps or dead trunks of many broadleaf trees, rarely on conifers.
Cap
Adorned with many concentric zones of varied colors, finely velvety to tomentose. Small and numerous fruitbodies.
Margin
White to creamy.
Pores and Pore Surface
Pores small, round to angular, 4 to 6 per mm, thick and whole walls at first, but lacerated with age.
Surface des tubes
White at first, browning with age.
Attachement of the fruit body
Consisting of a central attachment, but sometimes the surface of the tubes descends or spreads out on the substrate.
Flesh
White and thin.
Unfit for human consumption
The fruitbodies should be picked during the month of August, when they have completed their growth. In September, they have already lost much of their value.
Comments 
Recognized for its excellent therapeutic properties. Fruitbodies often form dense, beautiful clumps.
