Pulverulent at first, bright sulfur-yellow becoming orange-red to brownish red from the center toward the margin.
Blueing when bruisshed.
Pores and Pore Surface
Pore surface bright yellow becoming grayish brown at maturity, staining blue or grayish brown when bruised; pores circular to angular, 1-3 per mm.
Nearly equal to enlarging toward the base.
Appressed with bright sulfur-yellow fibrils, smooth above the annulus.
White to pale yellow, slowly staining pale blue or brown when cut.
