Habitat Area
Under larch and spruces.
Cap
Glutinous, dark brown when young, paler in age, margin covered with darker brown patches of gluten.
Margin
Appendiculate with partial veil remnants.
Tubes
Adnate.
Pores and Pore Surface
Pore surface whitish at first,then reddish brown in age, turn slightly reddish brown when bruised; pores angular.
Stalk
Nearly equal, white above the annulus, pinkish brown below.
Stalk Feature
Weakly reticulate above the annulus.
Flesh
Whitish, sometimes staining slowly blue when cut, especially at the top of the stalk.
