Cap
Pinkish red to olive-brown, often cracked, showing pink tints in the cracks at maturity.

Pores and Pore Surface
Pore surface yellow at first, dull brownish yellow in age, staining blue when bruised; pores irregular, up to 1 mm wide.
Stalk
Nearly equal or slightly enlarged in both directions.
Stalk Feature
Yellow at the apex, punctate with reddish dots and points below, usually with faint longitudinal ribs.
Flesh
White to pale yellow staining blue when cut, brownish near the base.
Basal Mycelium
White to pale yellow.
Chemical reactions
Towards pale beige on the flesh, cap and stipe with KOH and NaOH.
