Fruit body
Small fruitbodies with a reddish-brown cap whose stipe and tubes turn blue when bruised.
Cap
Reddish brown, cracked throughout, pinkish in the cracks.
Margin
Even.
Tubes
Yellow, shorter than long and depressed near the stipe.
Pores and Pore Surface
Yellow, turning blue when bruised ; large and irregular pores.
Stalk
Right stipe, equal, full.
Stalk Feature
Stipe yellow in the upper half and reddish downward, lined.
Flesh
Reddens when cut mainly in the cap and at the base of the stipe.
