Habitat Area
Mixed forest dominated by deciduous trees: maple, poplar, birch, various conifers and an island of larches in the south center. Medium-sized fruitbodies with a pink cap and with pink tints on the stem.
Cap
Cap old pink colored, plain surface, glabrous, 5.2 cm in diameter.
Pores and Pore Surface
Tubes : yellow, adnate, almost decurrent. Pore surface yellow, turning blue when bruised, large pores irregularly shaped.
Stalk
5 cm high, full, gradually tapering towards the base.
Stalk Feature
Pinkish hues on a yellow background, ribbed with reddish lines which seem to form a reticulum in places.
Flesh
White flesh in the cap which turns blue when cut, yellow in the insect galleries, more or less white flesh in the stem which turns blue in places when cut.
