Habitat
Mountainous terrain; mixed forest : coniferous and hardwoods with beech, oak and lime trees. Small, 3 x 5 cm, and fragile.
Cap
Reddish brown, convex, 5 cm in diameter.
Margin
Plain and wedge-shaped, which is uncommon among boletes.
Tubes
Adnate, slightly depressed near the stipe, yellow.
Pores and Pore Surface
Pore surface yellow ; round to irregular pores turning blue when bruised.
Stalk
Stipe shrinking steadily downwards, full.
Stalk Feature
Yellowish stipe decorated with fine brown roughness.
Flesh
Yellowish flesh darker towards the base of the stipe. Everything is immutable in this mushroom: flesh and exterior of the cap and stem.
