Viscous, glutinous, covered with brown layers of gluten with pinkish gray to reddish brown patches.
Margin
Entire, appendiculate with gelatinous remnants of veil tissue.
Tubes
Long, adnate.
Pores and Pore Surface
Pore surface pale yellow, browning in age, immuable or browning when bruised; pores angular, elongated and somewath radially arranged.
Stalk
Nearly equal to enlarging toward the base.
Flesh
Pale yellow, slowly browning or reddening when cut.
