Condrostereum stereum was the subject of a research project in the 1990s at Hydro Québec to control deciduous shrub vegetation under power lines and along roadsides. Laurentian Mushrooms, a company located in Abitibi, participated in this project by producing the high-density liquid mycelial cultures needed for these tests and the approval of the process in its laboratory.
